YOUNG LEADERS RECOGNISED
On 20 February 2020, the wrap event for the Guildford Young Leaders programme that started in April 2019 was held at the Harbour Hotel in Guildford. Those who attended included the young leaders, their line managers and council members.
As well as the five workshops completed by candidates during the last year, they were also given projects, with one group focusing on membership engagement and the other on charity engagement.
The wrap event included presentations by both project groups highlighting their projects, the issues and recommendations to council for how to improve engagement.
This was followed by celebratory drinks and a buffet. The Insurance Institute of Guildford would like to extend its congratulations to all the young leaders who completed the programme: (L-R) Nancy Morley, Luke Bishop, Jennifer Currell, Olivia Jukes, Ashely Lawrence, Ben Moore, Aaron Wilding, Grace Korten and Jamie Barham.
Members of the Insurance Institute of Bolton recently attended a site visit of the largest firefighter training facility in the UK – the purpose-built Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Training and Safety Centre in Bury.
The Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) held a Young Insurance Leaders event in May, where CII regional corporate development director, Helen Roberts, gave a talk on ‘New Talent – A critical ingredient for the future success of the insurance industry’.
Sian Fisher, CEO of the CII, appeared at a panel discussion at the FT Asia Insurance Summit 2018 in October.
