This year marks 125 years since the local institutes came together to form the Federation of Insurance Institutes of Great Britain and Ireland, which would later evolve into a professional body worthy of a Royal Charter – the Chartered Insurance Institute.
To mark the anniversary at this year’s Ambassadors in Action conference, taking place in Birmingham on 17 May, representatives from our 56 local institutes will unite to reflect on our heritage.
Local institute representatives will hear about the feedback received from members via the Shaping the future together consultation, which was launched to understand the needs and expectations of our members and other key stakeholders.
Good practice on how to engage members in the 21st century will also be discussed at the conference, which will be held as a face-to-face event for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
