The traditional full-day CII Kent conference was brought to life online by Ray Johnson, as chair, during the latter stages of lockdown, bringing together more than 450 insurance professionals across the south and southeast.
The event delivered bitesize updates on market issues and opportunities, from Sarah Mallaby, director of broker markets at Allianz; David Thomson, managing director at Sutton Winson; and Damian Glynn, director and head of financial lines at Sedgwick International.
There was also a Q&A session, encouraging further debate on technology, financial conditions, cyber, the changing workplace, customer changes with self-service and automation.
TV personality and psychotherapist, Melinda Messenger and motivational coach, Esther Stanhope, delivered a fun and engaging session on how to cope with the ‘next normal’, sharing advice on coping strategies and improving wellbeing.
The event was made possible thanks to Sutton Winson, Allianz, Aston Clark and Flint insurance, whose sponsorship benefited the Kent Association for the Blind.
Next year’s conference is planned as being a hybrid event – welcoming back local members to the Mercure in Maidstone on 5 April 2022 and virtually for those members further afield.
