During the initial stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, the charity Refuge reported a 65% increase in demand on its helpline, and a 700% increase in visits to its National Domestic Abuse Helpline website.
With this in mind, the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA) is a network that aims to enable employers to take action on domestic abuse by raising awareness among all employees, supporting those facing domestic abuse and providing access to services to help stop perpetrators.
In collaboration with Business in The Community and Public Health England, and sponsored by The Insurance Charities, EIDA has created ‘Domestic Abuse: a toolkit for employers’ to educate employers on domestic abuse, provide guidance and offer employer best practice.
