During the pandemic, the Insurance Institute of Leeds set up a virtual book club, which has started to meet on a regular basis.
Choosing a different theme each time, attendees can nominate a book and read out a small review with their likes and dislikes, creating a fantastic opportunity for members to take some downtime, network with new or existing contacts and brush up on their presentation skills.
Leeds president, Melanie Jordan, FCII said: "I felt it was important to have this incentive in place; as a self-professed bookworm, for me reading is a chance to escape all the stresses and strains of daily life and also to learn about other peoples and cultures. I thought now was an ideal time to share this experience with our members.
