While the Leeds Institute is working hard on its CPD programme and covering topics that are relevant to this current time, president Melanie Jordan felt it was important to connect with members and focus on their wellbeing.
The first series of events successfully launched was a fortnightly virtual quiz, with a different member of the council taking on the role of quizmaster and engaging with members, while asking some general knowledge questions to keep everyone's brains active.
Ms Jordan also created a virtual book club, with the first theme being 'a book that makes us smile', which was guaranteed to lift spirits. A small group of people met one evening to review their favourite read and to produce a recommended reading list.
In addition, the institute has offered an online pilates class, which will be happening bi-weekly aiming to keep the body and mind balanced.
