The CII has hosted an event -- 'How to become a dementia-friendly business' -- in partnership with Insurance United Against Dementia.
Attendees were shown how their business can better attract, retain and support staff, clients and customers affected by dementia, as well as learning how to become a dementia friend, providing an understanding of the condition and how to make small, positive changes to support those affected.
Insurance United Against Dementia is a five-year campaign in partnership with Alzheimer's Society, which aims to bring the insurance industry together to make positive lasting change for people affected by dementia, by raising vital funds and awareness.
Speakers included Richard Peden, UK chief compliance officer at Zurich, and Harriet Hill, programme partnerships officer, Alzheimer's Society, who both shared personal and professional experiences about the challenges of dealing with customers suffering from dementia.
