The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Underwriting Faculty presented its annual achievement award at Insurance Post's Underwriting Service Awards in London, to Harry Bailey.

The award was handed out on the night by Ant Gould, CII director of faculties. Announcing the award, Jonathan Swift, director of content at Insurance Post, said: "Our achievement award goes to someone who, while not a household name, has been described by a colleague as 'easily one of the best underwriters I have ever come across'.

"Another former colleague called Harry a great casualty technician, underwriter and educator, who has given many years of service to the industry and blends deep technical knowledge with practical common sense and reality.

"Because of [his] encyclopaedic knowledge, [he has] most recently been instrumental in raising awareness of the Insurance Act, as well as helping out with training, where [he has] been able to enlighten the young, up-and-coming future generations." Mr Bailey is presently assistant casualty manager at Axa Insurance, and previous roles included working at Independent Insurance.
