New CII app opens up world of risk to students.
A new app has been launched to help students think about the world of risk in a fun and interactive way.
The free 'Discover Risk' app -- has been developed by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) with commercial (re)insurer, Liberty Specialist Markets and global insurer broker, Marsh to help students understand the risks associated with day-to-day activities such as crossing a road or to going to a music festival and the importance of better planning.
Caspar Bartington, education relationship manager at the CII, explains: "Learning how to manage risk is an important life skill. We wanted to present the world of insurance in a fun and interactive way -- something young people could relate to. It illustrates how unexpected events can have a huge impact on life and why they need to be considered and planned for."
The app also highlights how modern day insurers consider all types of risks such as protecting a pop concert or an Olympic athlete against unexpected events, to help bring insurance to life in a tangible way. It teaches them how risk can be measured, whether to take a risk or not -- as well as how to mitigate risk. It touches on the wide variety of roles available within the profession to encourage students to consider insurance as a career path.
The Discover Risk app is now available to download free of charge on the App Store and Google Play. For more information about Discover Risk visit: www.DiscoverRisk.co.uk
All those who download the app will be able to get free membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) as a Discover member.
