Birmingham Insurance Institute has announced details of its Insurance and Financial Services Conference 2016, to be held at the Birmingham Repertory theatre on 8 June.
MP and former cabinet secretary of state for Wales John Redwood will be the keynote speaker, offering his thoughts on the UK economic outlook in the run-up to the European Union (EU) referendum.
The Birmingham branch of national wealth manager, Charles Stanley, is principal sponsor of the event, which features further keynote presentations by the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Sian Fisher; Personal Finance Society CEO Keith Richards; Brendan McCafferty, CEO of Flood Re; and James Dalton, director of general insurance policy at the Association of British Insurers.
The conference will provide an opportunity for more than
300 insurance and financial services professionals from across the region to hear the latest developments direct from key industry decision-makers and debate current key topics such as driverless cars, cyber liability, insurance fraud, flood insurance and protection, and talent attraction -- as well as what happens if you are referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
The conference will close with an EU referendum-focused debate between leading lights in the 'Vote Leave' and 'Stronger In' campaigns. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and debate the implications for the insurance and financial services sectors of remaining in or exiting the EU.
