The Society of Insurance Broking (SIB) has revealed plans to focus on attracting talent to the profession and educational engagement in the year ahead.
In September, the SIB marked its third birthday. Launched in September 2018, the society is designed to support broking professionals by providing essential good practice guidance, thought leadership and a dedicated programme of continued professional development.
In the year ahead, the professional body will work with key stakeholders in further and higher education to ensure that insurance broking is an attractive career path, with multiple entry routes, including graduate roles, trainee positions and apprenticeships.
The Society will also continue to look at the crucial issue of trust and reputation in the broking sector, and how individual actions can improve public trust in insurance.
In the last 12 months, the Society has focused on skills for the hard market, particularly recognising that there is a generation of young brokers who have never faced such challenging market conditions.
