By the end of October 2020, the local institute network had delivered more than 1,000 pieces of virtual learning content to members.
From high-level insight on important insurance issues including business interruption and the hardening market, through to training on topics such as managing teams remotely and engaging with clients virtually, local institutes have provided a broad range of technical and professional learning. With exams disrupted significantly during the summer, candidates have been able to continue their preparation, with revision sessions and exam-technique workshops delivered across the country.
At the time of writing, the breakdown of local institute events is:
- CPD: Technical – 606
- CPD: Revision – 108
- CPD: Professional skills – 183
- Virtual networking – 16
- Virtual social activities – 93
The hugely important issue of mental health and wellbeing has been a part of the offering, with virtual social and networking events including sessions on mindfulness, yoga, pilates and much more.
For an area of membership traditionally reliant on face-to-face events, the adaptability the local institutes have shown has been exemplary.
The CII regional and engagement teams will continue to work into 2021 to embed additional national and regional CPD support, allowing the CII and local institutes to work together even more closely in the delivery of insight and learning opportunities, with the aim of providing a modern, valuable and consistent experience to our members.
