Conduct, culture and communication were the themes of a recent event organised by the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man (IIIM).
The presentation, by Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA) CEO Karen Badgerow, was aimed at executive and non-executive directors, and those responsible for governance within regulated entities.
She focused on several learning objectives, beginning with the regulator’s view on the importance of good conduct and culture and followed by some practical examples to illustrate what that looks like. The responsibilities of board members regarding assessing conduct and culture were also examined.
IIIM president, Gill Marples, thanked the IOMFSA CEO for the presentation and delegates for attending. Ms Marples commented: “Globally, regulators are positioning conduct and customer outcomes at the heart of developments. The CII, through its commitment to driving confidence in the power of professional standards has an important role to play in the insurance sector’s response to this regulatory focus.”
Highlighting the Crown dependency’s commitment to good conduct in business and high regulatory standards, are key themes of the award-winning Isle of Man For Life campaign, which promotes the life and wealth management sector internationally.
