CII LAUNCHES PARENTS’ GUIDE TO APPRENTICESHIPS
A new parents’ guide to apprenticeships is being launched today by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). As students consider their options after school or college, this impartial guide helps parents to understand more about apprenticeships and how they can be a viable alternative to the default route of university.
The guide includes case studies from sector apprentices in technical and support roles, and was informed by interviews with them and their parents.
The apprenticeship levy, which will come into effect in April 2017, is likely to see more companies recruit more young people in apprenticeships. These workbased, ‘earn-while-you-learn’ programmes offer fantastic opportunities for those who want to build a successful career without having to go to university first and incur the cost.
The guide is being distributed to schools and colleges across the country and can also be downloaded at bit.ly/2d9N5Lf or alternatively, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Members in the Liverpool area are being offered a free continuing professional development (CPD) event with a difference on 21 June.
The CII and IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group, have signed a memorandum of understanding, joining forces to tackle the protection gap faced by women, increase their knowledge of risk and access to insurance.
